Meenakshi Iyer (Vocal)

Meenakshi is an 8th grader at Lawson Middle school. She learns Carnatic music from Dr. Shri Shivkumar Bhat, Director of IAIM school of music. She was previously a student of Smt. Hema Shista and Smt. Sugandha Kalamegham. Meenakshi is also learning Bharathanatyam from Smt. Sundara Swaminathan.

Alaap Rag (Violin)

Alaap Rag is an 8th grader at Miller Middle School. He learns Carnatic Violin from Smt Lakshmi Balasubramanya for the past 4 1/2 years. He has accompanied various music schools in the bay area, in Sacramento Aradhana and has won prizes in Papanasam Sivan competition. He also Carnatic Vocal from Smt. Ananya Ashok and her father Sri Ashok Subramaniam(both disciples of Sangeetha Kalanidhi Madurai Sri T N Seshagopalan). He has given many vocal concerts in the US as well in India.

Vijay Venkatesan (Mrudangam)

Vijay Venkatesan is 18 years old and is in 12th Grade at Lynbrook High School. He has been learning Mrudangam for the past 10 years from Sri. Ravindra Bharathy Sridharan, Founder and Artistic Director, Nadhopasana Academy of Fine Arts, a premier Mrudhangam School in the Bay Area.

Vijay has rendered Mrudangam support to many Bay Area carnatic vocal and instrument students at their respective school events and in public venues, such at Annual Navarathri Celebrations at Various Bay Area Temples, MSS Day, SSI Day, Sri Purandharadasar Day, OSAT, and at Tri-Valley Music Circle.

In addition to his focus in academics and passion about playing Mrudhangam, Vijay spends his time volunteering in various community activities.

Apoorva Rajesh (Vocal)

Apoorva is a junior at Dougherty Valley High School and a disciple of Shri. Vivek Sundraraman at Sri Paduka Academy. She has been learning Carnatic music since kindergarten. She also learns to play veena from Shri Rajan Vaidheeswaran, a disciple of Kalaimamani Shri. Chittibabu, at Guruvaram Music School and plays 5th-grade level Piano. She has performed at both group and solo concerts and participated and won in music competitions.

Shreyas Srinivasan (Violin)

Shreyas is a disciple of Sri H.K.Narasimhamurthy, coming from the lineage of Violin Maestros Sri. Parur Sundaram Iyer and Padma Bhushan and Sangitha Kalanidhi Sri. M.S.Gopalakrishnan. He also learns Carnatic Vocal from Padma Bhushan Sangitha Kalanidhi Sri. Madurai T.N.Seshagopalan. Shreyas has provided accompaniment support for Vocal and Bharatha Natyam Arangetrams for music schools in the Bay area. Shreyas has also given solo concerts and also accompanied artists in the US and in India during Music Season. Shreyas is a Sophomore at Dublin High School.

Harish Kumar (Mridangam)

Thalainyayiru S. Harish Kumar(THK) is the great grandson of the one and only Flute T.R. Mahalingam. THK initially learnt from Neyveli Shri K. Ganesan for 4 years and later on became a disciple of Padmavibushan Umayalpuram Shri K. Sivaraman under whom he has been learning the art for more than 8 years. THK iss one of the most promising and finest mrudangam artistes in the music scenario and had been a regular performer in all leading sabhas in Chennai like The Music Academy, Narada Gana Sabha, Krishna Gana Sabha to name a few. He has represented India for the Youth International Festival held in Baku, Azerbaijan (Former part of USSR). A recipient of ‘Maham Sangeetha Rathna Award’ by Maham foundation, ‘Laya Bhaskara’ by Gnanaskandan trust, Outstanding mrudangist Award -Palaghat Mani Iyer’s Endowment by Krishna Gana Sabha and many more awards.

Achyut Srinivasan (Vocal)

Achyut is a disciple of Padma Bhushan Sangitha Kalanidhi Sri. Madurai T.N.Seshagopalan. Prior to learning from Sri.TNS Sir, he was learning from Sri. Hari Devnath and Sri. Vivek Sundararaman. Achyut also learns Mrudangam from Sri. Ramesh Srinivasan at Sarvalaghu Percussion Arts Center and Veena from Vidushi Smt. Padmavathy Ananthagopalan, sister of Violin Maestro Sri. Lalgudi Jayaraman. Achyut has given many Carnatic Vocal duets with his brother Shreyas and also provided accompaniment support for artists in Bay Area as well as in India during Music Season. Achyut is a 7th Grader at Fallon Middle School in Dublin.

Govinda is a disciple of Sri. H.S.Sudhindra and Sri. Karthik Gopalratnam. He has been learning Mrudangam for the past 4 years. Govinda has provided accompaniment support for several concerts, music events, and festivals in the Bay Area. Govinda is a High Schooler.
