Nyantara Narasimhan (Vocal)Nyantara is a student of Smt. Anuradha Sridhar of the Trinity Center for Music in Saratoga since 2004. Nyantara has had the privilege of training in both voice and violin under her guru and has also been nurtured in a musical environment at home. Nyantara has won prizes in the vocal category in the Cleveland Aradhana and at the Papanasam Sivan Competition. In April of this year, she was part of the team of students trained by Anuradha Sridhar who won the Best School Competition category in Cleveland. In May 2009, Nyan performed her first vocal concert at Nandalala Mission, Sunnyvale.
Nyantara, is a freshman at The King's Academy in Sunnyvale. She is a strong singer and has been a part of Kennedy Dynamics at Kennedy Middle School, Cupertino. Her other interests are dance, spending time with her family, friends and her Siberian husky.
Harini Jagannathan (Violin)A vocal and violin student of Smt. Anuradha Sridhar, Harini Jaganathan has given vocal and violin solo concerts in the Bay Area and has been an accompanist at Lotus, Nandalala, and Swaralahari. She has won prizes in the violin and the vocal categories at the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana and Papanasam Sivan celebrations. She is a sophomore at Cupertino High. She writes for her school newspaper and enjoys pencil drawing.
Gopal Ravindhran (Mridangam)Gopal Ravindhran has been learning the Mrudangam for the past 7 years from Shri Ravindra Bharathy Sridharan at ShruthiSwara Laya, Fremont, California. He has also attended several workshops conducted by noted mrudangists, such as Sri Neyveli Narayanan and Sri Murugabhoopathy. Gopal has accompanied teachers/various musical schools in Bay Area. He has won several prizes in competitions conducted in the bay area, Chicago and Cleveland. Recently, his Mrudangam Arangetram was celebrated in San Jose, accompanying Vidwan Sri Delhi Sunderajan - Vocal , Vidwan Sri VittalMurthy on the violin, and Vidwan Sri A.MahaDevan on the Morsing.
Gopal is a 8th grader at Walters Junior High in Fremont.
Krithika Krishnamurthy (Vocal)Krithika Krishnamurthy has been learning Carnatic music from Smt. Rama Thyagarajan, of Sathguru Vidhyalaya, for the past 6 years. Krithika has given many performances with her music school in venues like Badarikashram (San Leandro), and in the Sunnyvale and Livermore Temples. She also regularly takes part in events conducted by Sathguru Vidyalaya including Annual Day programs and fundraisers. She had given her first informal solo concert in October 2007. She soulfully enjoys this art form and wishes to carry it with her as far as she can. Krithika is a senior (12th grader) in Lynbrook High School, in San Jose, CA.
Vignesh Thyagarajan (Violin)Vignesh Thyagarajan, started learning carnatic vocal music at the age of 5 years with his mother Smt. Rama Thyagarajan and violin at the age of 6 years. He is continuing his violin lessons from Dr. Susheela Narasimhan. Vignesh is learning advanced techniques and kritis from Sri. Delhi.P.Sunder Rajan. Vignesh has accompanied students from Sarvalagu percussion arts center for a Tala Vadya kutcheri performance held on the occasion of Ugadi festival conducted by Kannada Koota and to devotional songs performance during the Ugadi festival conducted by Silicon Andra. He regularly accompanies students of Sathguru Vidyalaya on annual day functions and house concerts for the last 2 years. Vignesh continues to learn western violin and recently become a member of California Youth Symphony (CYS) of the bay area. He is in eight grade at Lawson Middle School in Cupertino, CA.
Ganapathiraman Viswanathan (Mridangam)Ganapathiraman is currently undergoing his Mridangam learning with Sri.Ramesh Srinivasan, founder and director of Sarvalaghu Percussion Art Center and the leading disciple of Mridangam Maestro 'Sangeeta Kalanidhi' Sri Vellore G.Ramabhadran. Ganapathiraman in his early years learned Mridangam with Sri T.D. Balasubramanium (disciple of 'Kalaimamani' and 'Ghatam Nagamani' Sri 'Vikku' Vinayakram) and with Sri Subramanium. He took part in the unique Taala Vaadhya ensembles 'Laya Vinyasam' & 'Laya Taranga' conducted by Sarvalaghu Percussion Art Center. He has been performing in Lotus and other Bay area programs since the last 2 years. He is working as a Software Engineer and residing with his family in the San Francisco Bay area.
