Hari Narayanan Srivatsan (Violin Solo)
Chi. Hari Narayanan Srivatsan is a violin disciple of his father Vidwan Hemmige Srivatsan. He is a carnatic vocal student of his parents Smt. Subhapriya and Sri Srivatsan. Hari has been blessed with the opportunity to learn under Vidushi Smt. Padma Narayanaswamy. He is also an avid jazz trumpeter and tennis player. Hari is headed to UCSB this fall to pursue an undergraduate degree in Neuroscience.
Varun Rao (mrdangam)
Varun Rao has been learning mridangam from Shri Ravindra Bharathy Sridharan (founder and director of Nadopasana Academy of Fine Arts) for over 10 years. He performs regularly in the Bay Area for organizations like Carnatic Chamber Concerts, SR Fine Arts, South India Fine Arts, Live4You, Rasamanjari, and LOTUS and has won awards at competitions such as the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana. In May, Varun completed his arangetram accompanying Vidwan Kalyanapuram S Aravind, Vidushi Sruti Sarathy, and Vidwan G Chandrasekara Sharma. He recently graduated from Mission San Jose High School.
Malini Iyer (Vocal)
Malini Iyer began her Carnatic vocal training under Smt. Asha Ramesh (San Jose) and subsequently continued under Smt. Rohini Venkatachalam (Mumbai). She is currently a disciple of Kalyanapuram Shri Aravind Soundararajan.
Malini has also been learning Veena, starting in 2018 under Smt. Radha Ramachandran in Mumbai. She is currently under the able guidance of Shri. Guhan Venkataraman.
Malini is trained in Bharatanatyam and completed her Arangetram in April 2023 under the guidance of Smt. Mythili Kumar of Abhinaya Dance Company, San Jose.
Malini is a rising junior at UC Davis majoring in Statistics.
Vikram Iyer (Violin)
Vikram Iyer (Malini’s older brother) was initiated into Carnatic music at an early age. He has learnt violin and vocal from Smt. Anuradha Sridhar. He is currently a disciple of Kalyanapuram Shri. Aravind Soundararajan for vocal and Delhi Shri. P Sunder Rajan for violin.He has been fortunate to perform vocal as well as violin accompaniment for concerts in Chennai during the December Music season. In December 2022, he presented a vocal concert at Shri Krishna Gana Sabha, Chennai.
Vikram just graduated in Electrical Engineering and is all set to pursue his Masters degree at UCLA this Fall.
Pranav Tirumalai (Mridangam)
Pranav Tirumalai began his musical journey at the age of 6 under the able guidance of Sri. Ravindra Bharathy Sridharan. For the past 7 years, Pranav has had the fortune of learning the art of mridangam from Sri. Trichur C. Narendran, a Vidwan who has accompanied stalwarts of Carnatic music for more than 5 decades. Pranav is blessed to belong to the illustrious musical lineage of Padma Shri Palghat Raghu and Sangita Kalanidhi Palghat Mani Iyer. He has had the opportunity to accompany several Bay Area musicians ranging from youngsters like himself to established artists. Pranav recently graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Biomedical Engineering.
Meera Iyer (veena)
Meera Iyer has been learning veena from Smt. Anuradha Sundar for the past eight years. She has also been learning Carnatic vocal music from Sri Sikkil Gurucharan for the past four years. Meera is a rising freshman at Stony Brook University, where she will be starting an 8 year BS/MD program this fall.
Niranjan Ravichandran (Mridangam)
Niranjan Ravichandran has been learning Mridangam for 10 years under Guru Shri. Natarajan Srinivasan at Nandi Laya Vidyalaya.
He has been a regular performer and accompanist at various Bay Area platforms including CCC, Rasamanjari, Lotus, SR Fine Arts, TVMC, and others. He has also won prizes in the OSAAT Naatya Raaga competition.
In May 2023, Niranjan completed his Arangetram with guidance and mentorship from his Guru Shri Natarajan Srinivasan and Paramaguru Shri. S.V.Ramani.
