Sachin Peddada (Vocal)

Sachin Peddada is a rising Senior at The Harker School, San Jose. Sachin has been learning Carnatic vocal music for the past 11 years under the guidance of Sangeetha Vidushi Smt. Jayashree Varadarajan, Founder and Director of Sri RamaLalitha Kala Mandir School of Fine Arts. Sachin has participated in several music performances around the Bay Area under the auspices of the music school including the school’s annual Vijayadasami functions, the school’s 25th Anniversary celebrations, and several temple performances. Sachin also represented the school in the Television program “Swara Lahari” for the rendition of compositions from Narayana Teertha’s Sree KrishnaLeela Tarangini in 2013. He also participated in the“Parama Prema” benefit concert conducted by Nandalala Mission in conjunction with the music school.

In addition to pursuing his passion in Carnatic music, Sachin has also learned Western Classical piano for 10 years, serves on the San Jose City Youth Commission, participates regularly in mathematics contests, and is a member of his school’s show choir.

Keerthi (Violin)

Keerthi is 18 years old and will be a Freshman at Berkeley this Fall.

She learning violin from Dr. Saravanapriyan Sriraman, disciple of Sri Lalgudi GJR Krishnan.Keerthi has performed at various places and regularly accompanies junior and senior artists and several organizations and school events in the Bay Area. Apart from Violin, Keerthi also learns carnatic vocal from Sri Ajay Namboodiri, disciple of SriNeyveli Santhanagopalan.

Amit Ranganathan (Mrudangam)

Amit Ranganathan is a disciple of Sri.Ravindrabharathi Sridharan and has been under his tutelage for the past seven years. He recently performed his mridangam arangetramaccompanying Sri. Neyveli Santanagopalan to a full length Concert and was awarded the title “NadhaBindu”. Amit has accompanied students of various Bay Area music schools and has played under the auspices of several organizations. He is part of the Laya Vinyasam team put together by his Guru which has performed at various venues here in the Bay Area receiving excellent reviews.

Amit has won many awards at the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana Festival Competition in 2012 and 2013, including first place in the senior mridangam category in 2013. He also won the first place award in the Papanasam Sivan Fine Arts Academy competition in 2010.

In addition to learning mridangam, Amit has learnt Carnatic vocal music from Smt. Jayashree Varadarajan for nine years.

Amit, a Yuvakendra Kendra student and a Bala Viharteacher aide at Chinmaya Mission San Jose, is a Junior at Cupertino High School.

Namrata Vakkalagadda (Vocal)

Namrata started learning Carnatic music at the age of 8 from Sangeetha Vidhushi Smt. Jayashree Varadarajan, Founder and Artistic Director of Sri Rama Lalitha Kala Mandir School of Fine Arts. Namrata has performed in the school performances at various Bay Area temples, the school annual programs, the school’s 25thanniversary celebration and most recently at the ‘Parama Prema’ fundraiser for Nandalala Mission.

In addition to her study of Carnatic music at SRLKM, Namrata has learned Western classical vocal music for the past 4 years from Ms. Katya Roemer. She was very active in performing arts as a high school student at the Harker School and participated in school musicals and plays, sang in her high school's show choir Downbeat, and also directed a play in her senior year.

Namrata is also a member of Chinmaya Mission and attended Bala Vihar for 13 years. She served as a Bala Vihar youth helper and teacher throughout high school and as a student leader of the Yuva Kendra Sandwich outreach program.

Namrata will be attending Washington University in St. Louis this fall.

Keerthi Sundaramurthy (Violin)

Akshay Venkatesan (Mrudangam)

Akshay Venkatesan started learning mridangam at Sarvalghu Percussion Art Center, San Jose, CA at the age of 5 under the able guidance of `Laya Kala Ratna’ Sri Ramesh Srinivasan, a leading disciple of Mridangam Maestro Late Sangeetha Kalanidhi Sri Vellore G. Ramabhadran.

Akshay has accompanied on Mridangam in April 2011 Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana `Sustaining Sampradaya Concert’ and Carnatic Symphony in 2013 and 2014, Papanasam Sivan and CCC concert in 2014. He also accompanied Carnatic Idol group winners’ concert in Cleveland in 2014. He was also fortunate to be part of the lecdem at Cleveland festival conducted by his Guru Sri. Ramesh Srinivasan about Sri. Vellore G. Ramabhadran mama. Akshay has been accompanying vocalists and instrumentalists in Bay area for the last four years.

Akshay also learns vocal Carnatic music and is a student of Sri Paduka Academy. His other activities include playing tennis and basketball as well as saxophone in his school band. He is in 7th grade at Chaboya middle school.

Aishwarya Jayaraman (Vocal)

Aishwarya Jayaraman is a Freshmen in San Ramon Valley High School. She has been learning music for the past 7 years. Currently, she is under the able tutelage of Shri. Vivek Sundaraman and Shri. Hari Devanath from Sri Paduka Academy. Apart from learning music, she is also learning veena from Shri. Srikanth Chary. She has participated in competitions like Nada Nrithya, OSAAT, Pavanasam Sivan competion and won prizes. She has been part of, most of the workshops conducted in bay area. She has been part of Sustaining Sampradayam conducted by Cleveland Aradhana. She has given performances at CCC, and other various temples in the Bay Area. She is part of the high school choir and has also learnt Bhanjans in various languages under guidance of Smt. Prema Sriram. She learned Hindustani vocal music from Smt. Sujatha Ganekar.

Omsri Bharat (Veena)

Omsri Bharat learns the veena from well-known Veena Vidwan, Shri Srikanth Chary. She has performed at several venues like The Livermore Hindu Temple, Badarikashrama, Fremont Hindu Temple etc. She has also participated and won prizes in competitions like the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana and The Papanasam Sivam Festival. Omsri has also played for LOTUS, CCC, and performed in the Pleasanton Youth festival. She is a student at UC Berkeley.
