Mayuri Ranganathan (Vocal)

Mayuri Ranganathan will be a Sophomore at Saint Francis High School, Mountain View this fall. Mayuri has been learning Carnatic vocal music since the age of 5 from Nandini Ramamurthy, Hari Devanath and currently from VVS Murari, Founder and Director of VVS Foundation and his father Nadayogi V.V.Subrahmanyam. Mayuri has participated in several music performances in the Bay Area, including CCC, Fremont, Cleveland Aradhana, and more.

In addition to learning music, Mayuri is on the Saint Francis swimming team and water polo team. In her spare time, she likes to take photos, read and bake.

Keethi Sundaramurthy (Violin)

Keerthi is learning violin from Dr. Saravanapriyan Sriraman, disciple of Sri Lalgudi GJR Krishnan. Keerthi has performed at various places and regularly accompanies junior and senior artists and several organizations and school events in the Bay Area. Apart from Violin, Keerthi also learns carnatic vocal from Sri Ajay Namboodiri, disciple of Sri Neyveli Santhanagopalan.

Keerthi will be a Freshman at UC Berkeley this Fall.

Adarsh Ramchandran (Mrudangam)

Adarsh is a rising high school Junior. He has been learning mridangam from Sri Gopi Lakshminarayanan for the past 4 1/2 years and is a frequent accompanist at the monthly CCC (Carnatic Chamber Concerts) events. He has also accompanied other music schools and students on various occasions.

In addition, Adarsh has been a student of vocal music at Sri Paduka Academy for almost seven years. He has participated in several Bay Area contests (Papanasam Sivan, OSAAT, Nada Nrithya, Kala Aradhana, Natya Raga) and won prizes for both vocal and mridangam.

He is also one of the Executive Members of YSTCA (Youth Service Through Cultural Arts) which recently organized a very successful fund raiser for CAA (College of Adaptive Arts). Adarsh is part of his school's Science Bowl Team and Math Club and likes to cheer for his favorite Bay Area sports teams.

Ananya Ashok (Veena)

Ananya is an accomplished Vainika and trains under Sri Srikanth Chary, a senior disciple of Sri Lalgudi G. Jayaraman. She has won prizes in the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana and has performed in the Bay Area and LA. She has also provided veena music for theatre productions in San Jose and Los Angeles. In 2010 she gave veena support for the Annamacharya Project by Silicon Andhra. Ananya is a recipient of the 2011 'Alliance for California Traditional Arts' Fellowship Award for the Veena in the year 2011.

Ananya Ashok is also a vocalist and student of Smt. Anuradha Sridhar. She has performed in various venues around Chennai and US. She is a B-high graded artist of All India Radio Chennai.

Ananya also hails from a musical family. Ananya’s father, Sri Ashok Subramaniam is a musician and teacher residing in Bay Area, California. From her paternal side, Ananya is the grand-niece of Sri. K.R. Kumaraswamy and Sri. K.R. Kedaranathan. On her maternal side, her great grandmother is a disciple of Sangeetha Kalanidhi Kallidaikuruchi Vedanta Bhagavatar and Ramalinga Bhagavatar. Ananya holds a degree in Linguistics & Anthropolgy from UCLA and is a Content Editor at the Score Music Magazine.

Karthik Gopalaratnam (Mrudangam)

Karthik Gopalratnam is well known to Bay Area music lovers as a mrdangam artist, Karthik has had extensive training in vocal music as well. He was first taught by his mother Girija Gopalratnam, and then her guru Neela Ramgopal of Bangalore. After moving to the US he was privileged to come under the tutelage of Sreevidhya Chandramouli, a descendant of the illustrious Karaikudi Veena tradition, and whose guidance has been instrumental in moulding Karthik's music. Karthik has also benefited by his association with the many excellent musicians of the Bay Area.
