Shashank Venkat (Vocal)

Shashank Venkat is a 10th Grader at Pioneer High School in San Jose. He has been learning carnatic vocal music from Sri. Hari Devanath and Sri.Vivek Sundarraman. He is also learning carnatic violin from Sri. Arvind Lakshmikanthan. Shashank has performed in various music programs. He is a passionate and avid student of intricacies and traditional music with abundance guidance from his Gurus. He also performs in western violin orchestra California Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and studious learner of western classic music. He loves to play tennis, ping pong, video games and reading.

Aditya Satyadeep (Violin)

Aditya is a freshman at Archbishop Mitty High School. He has been learning carnatic violin for the past 6 years. Aditya had his initial training under the guidance of Dr.Rajalakshmi Srinivasan and is currently under the tutelage of Smt.Lalgudi Vijayalakshmi, daughter and disciple of the Violin maestro Shri Lalgudi G. Jayaraman. Aditya regularly accompanies young carnatic music students in the bay area. He has also had the privilege to perform at the Bayarea Marghazhi Utsavam, Chicago Thyagaraja Utsavam, and as part of the 2014 Cleveland Sustaining Sampradya group . Aditya has received prizes in carnatic violin competitions organized by the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana and Kala Aradhana. During his free time, Aditya enjoys listening to carnatic music, reading and playing tennis and basketball.

Sachin Venkat (Mridangam)

Sachin Venkat is a 5th Grader at Los Alamitos Elementary School in San Jose. He has been learning mridangam from Sri Ramesh Srinivasan. He is also learning vocal music from Smt. Kasthuri Sivakumar. Sachin has performed in Cleveland Sampradaya and Pranava Nadam. He relishes the aspects of layam and naadam from the instrument. Sachin is a competent piano player and completed the piano level 4. He loves to read , play ping pong, tennis, video games and have play dates.

Aishwarya Shankar (Vocal)

Aishwarya Shankar is a junior at Irvington High School in Fremont. She has been learning Carnatic music from Smt. Snigdha Venkatramani for the past 6 years. Aishwarya has performed in several venues such as Tri-Valley Music Circle, CCC, and SRFA. She has also participated in several competitions such as the annual Papanasam Sivan competition, and was a finalist in 2015's Sangeet Samraat competition. Aishwarya is an avid orator and is on her school's speech team. She is also a part of her school's badminton team. Aishwarya also enjoys playing basketball with her friends and watching football.

Prasanna Rajan (Flute)

Prasanna Rajan has been learning Carnatic Flute under the tutelage of flute maestro Sri Shashank Subramanyam . He also plays Hindustani flute and western trumpet. He has performed several solo flute concerts both Hindustani and Carnatic in the US and India. He has participated in various Carnatic and Hindustani music competitions and has won many awards. He has played as an accompanist to several dance arangetrams (debuts) and dance productions in the bay area.

He is one of the founders of Laya of UC Berkeley and they have performed in various events in UC Berkeley.

Prasanna recently graduated from in UC Berkeley majoring in Bioengineering. He is currently pursuing a joint masters from UCSF/UCB from Fall 2016.

Amit Ranganathan (Mrudangam)

Amit Ranganathan is a disciple of Sri. Ravindra Bharathi Sridharan and he regularly accompanies musicians and students of various San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento music schools and has played under the auspices of several organizations including SIFA, LOTUS, Nandalala Mission, SR Fine Arts, Swaralahari and Sacramento Aradhana. He also accompanies artists for festival concerts including Rama Navami, Navarthri, Vijayadasami celebrations as well as Thygaraja Aradhanas. He has played for Bharatanatyam Arangetrams and dance programs in the Bay Area as well as in Sacramento. Amit is a regular performer in the Chennai December season and in Fremont Margazhi Utsavam.

Amit has won the junior, senior, and accompaniment awards at the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana Festival competitions. In addition to learning mrudangam, Amit has learnt Carnatic vocal music from Smt. Jayashree Varadarajan.

Amit is a sophomore at San Jose State University majoring in Computer Science and continues to support the Carnatic music community all around USA on a regular basis.

Samyuktha Natesan (Vocal)

Samyuktha is a 6th grader at Gale Ranch Middle school in San Ramon. She has been learning music from her guru Smt. Akila Shankar from a young age of three. She also supplements her learning form Vidwan Sri. R Suryaprakash. She has performed at various music programs including the Sustaining Sampradhaya at the Cleveland Thyagaraja music festival. She has won many prizes in various music competitions including the Cleveland Aradhana, Kala Aradana, OSAAT, and Papanasam Sivan festival. She is extremely passionate about all forms of music and plays the violin for her school orchestra. In addition to singing and listening to music, she loves to read, sew and swims competitively.

Sriram Subramanian (Mridangam)

Sriram Subramanian is a 9th grader at Dougherty Valley High School, San Ramon. Sriram has been learning mridangam from Sri. Gopi Lakshminarayan, of Sharada School of Thala Vadhya, since January 2012. Prior to that, Sriram was learning from Sri. Sekhar Sarukkai for two years. Sriram had his mridangam arangetram in August 2016, accompanying Sangeetha Rathnakara Vidwan Neyveli Sri. R. Santhanagopalan. He has participated in OSAT, Papanasam Sivan, as well as the Cleveland competitions and won prizes. He also learns Carnatic vocal from Smt. Chandrika Pai. Sriram is a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
