Kamala Varadarajan (Vocal)

Kamala learns Carnatic Music from her father, Sri Mani Varadarajan. She is also an advanced student of western classical piano. Kamala is 13 years old,

is an avid soccer player, and attends 8th grade at Jordan Middle School in Palo Alto.

Keshav Srivatsan (Violin)

Keshavan Narayanan Srivatsan is a Carnatic vocalist and violinist, belonging to the Legendary Ariyakudi Ramanuja Iyengar & Palghat K.V. Narayanaswamy Lineage. He has been training in vocal music under his parents Smt. Subhapriya K. Srivatsan and Hemmige Sri V. Srivatsan since a very young age and continues to train on the violin with his father. Keshavan has also had the rare privilege of learning with illustrious musicians such as Vidushi Smt. Padma Narayanaswamy (his Parama-guru-pathni), Vidushi Smt. Jayalakshmi Santhanam and Vidwan Sri R.K. Shriramkumar. Keshavan is an 8th grader at Rolling Hills Middle School, Los Gatos.

Akshay Venkatesan (Mrudangam)

Akshay Venkatesan started learning mridangam at Sarvalghu Percussion Art Center, San Jose, CA at the age of 5 under the able guidance of `Laya Kala Ratna’ Sri Ramesh Srinivasan, a leading disciple of Mridangam Maestro Late Sangeetha Kalanidhi Sri Vellore G. Ramabhadran.

Akshay has accompanied on Mridangam in April 2011 Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana `Sustaining Sampradaya Concert’ and Carnatic Symphony in 2013 and 2014, Papanasam Sivan and CCC concert in 2014. He also accompanied Carnatic Idol group winners’ concert in Cleveland in 2014. He was also fortunate to be part of the lecdem at Cleveland festival conducted by his Guru Sri. Ramesh Srinivasan about Sri. Vellore G. Ramabhadran mama. Akshay has been accompanying vocalists and instrumentalists in Bay area for the last four years.

Akshay also learns vocal Carnatic music and is a student of Sri Paduka Academy. His other activities include playing tennis and basketball as well as saxophone in his school band. He is in 7th grade at Chaboya middle school.

Maya Josyula (Vocal)

Maya is a senior at Homestead High School in Cupertino. She has been learning music from Sangeeta kala Vibhooshini Smt. Jayashree Varadarajan since she was 7 years old. Maya has had the opportunity to perform on several occasions on behalf of her music school. She recently performed in her school’s benefit performance “Parama Prema” as a fund raising program for Nandalala Mission. Maya has won prizes for her performance in annual music examinations and OSAAT competitions.

Maya has also learned piano for 10 years and plays the clarinet in her school's wind ensemble.

This is Maya’s first solo performance.

Keerthi Sundaramurthy (Violin)

Keerthi is 18 years old and is a Freshman at Berkeley. She learns violin from Dr. Saravanapriyan Sriraman, disciple of Sri Lalgudi GJR Krishnan. Keerthi has performed at various places and regularly accompanies junior and senior artists and several organizations and school events in the Bay Area. Keerthi is also a carnatic vocalist and is a student of Sri Ajay Namboodiri, disciple of Sri Neyveli Santhanagopalan.

Amit Ranganathan (Mrudhangam)

Amit Ranganathan is a disciple of Sri. Ravindrabharathi Sridharan and has been under his tutelage for the past eight years. Last September he performed his mrudangam arangetram accompanying Sri. Neyveli Santanagopalan to a full length concert and was awarded the title "Nadha Bindu". Amit has been accompanying students of various Bay Area music schools and has played under the auspices of several organizations. He has also participated in Chennai december season and NCYCAC in North Carolina. He is part of the Laya Vinyasam team put together by his Guru which has performed at various venues here in the Bay Area receiving excellent reviews.

Amit has won many awards at the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana Festival Competition in 2012 and 2013, including first place in the senior mrudangam category. He also won the first place award in the Papanasam Sivan Fine Arts Academy competition in 2010.

In addition to learning mrudangam, Amit has learnt Carnatic vocal music from Smt. Jayashree Varadarajan for nine years.

Amit, a Yuvakendra Kendra student and a Bala Vihar teacher aide at Chinmaya Mission San Jose is a senior at Cupertino High School.

Asrita Bhamidipati (Vocal)

Asrita is a sophomore at Lynbrook High school. She started learning Carnatic music at the age of 5, under the tutelage of Sangeeta Vibhooshini Smt. Jayashree Varadarajan, Founder/Artistic Director of Sri Rama Lalitha Kala Mandir School of Fine Arts based in Sunnyvale, California. Asrita has participated in her music school’s programs and performed in temples around the Bay Area on the occasion of Sri Ramanavami, Purandaradas day celebrations and Maha Shivaratri festival celebrations. She has participated in competitions such as Thyagaraja Aaradhana in Cleveland, Carnatic idol, and OSAAT. Along with vocal training, she also took up classical flute for the past 8 years with 'Dr Ramani's academy of flute, Bay area chapter' and in 2010, she coveted the second place award in the Thyagaraja Aaraadhana. Along with Carnatic music, Asrita is an active participant in her school's western classical as well as jazz choirs.
