Kushal Tirumala (Vocal)

Kushal Tirumala is a 9th grader at Lynbrook High School, Cupertino. He has been learning carnatic music for seven years from Guru Smt.Hema Sista, desciple of the renowned artist Dr. M.L.Vasanthakumari. He has participated and won prizes in various competitions held in the bay area like the Papanasam Sivan competitions, OSAAT and SDK competitions. He has also performed at the Marghazhi festival and the S.R.Fine Arts in the bay area. Other than music, Kushal enjoys playing badminton at a club team. His other interests include Robotics and video games.

Keerthi Sundaramurthy (Violin)

Keerthi Sundaramurthy is a Senior at Washington High School, Fremont. She has been learning violin from Dr. Saravanapriyan Sriraman, disciple of Sri Lalgudi GJR Krishnan. She has participated in the Cleveland Tyagaraja Aradhana festival and was awarded 1st and 2nd prizes for senior category Violin. She has also won prizes in the Papanasam Sivan competition, and OSAAT. Keerthi has performed at various places like Lotus, Nandalala etc, and has accompanied several artists and school events in the Bay Area.

Apart from Violin, Keerthi also learns carnatic vocal from Sri Ajay Namboodiri, disciple of Sri Neyveli Santhanagopalan, over Skype.

Other than music, Keerthi plays Varsity tennis for her school team, and is the Vice president of her school's Red Cross Association.

Amit Ranganathan (Mrudangam)

Amit Ranganathan has been learning mrudangam under the tutelage of Guru Sri Ravindra Bharathy Sridharan, Artistic Director of Nadhopasana Academy of Fine Arts for the past seven years. In September 2013, Amit had his arangetram accompanying Sangeetha Kala Sarathy, Isai peroli Sri. Neyveli Santhanagopalan on vocal, Hemmige Srivatsan on Violin and Ganesh Ramanarayanan on Kanjira.

In addition to being an active performer in his Guru’s school’s programs, Amit has been accompanying students from other music schools. He also enjoys accompanying his sisters for home videos, community and temple events. Amit has won prizes in the junior and senior level mrudangam competitions at Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana Festival and Papanasam Sivan Fine arts. He is part of the ‘Laya Vinyasam’ team put together by Sri Ravindra Bharathy, which has performed at Vivriti music festival and OSAAT, receiving excellent reviews.

Amit has also learnt carnatic vocal music for nine years under the tutelage of Smt. Jayashree Varadarajan.

Amit is a junior at Cupertino High School. He is a Yuva Kendra student and a teacher assitant at Chinmaya Mission San Jose. Amit's other interest includes basketball and video games.

Shreyas Srinivasan (Vocal)

Shreyas is 11 years of age, a 6th grader at Ardenwood Elementary School in Fremont. He is a proud student of Sri Paduka Academy, learning carnatic vocal from Sri. Hari Devanath and Sri. Vivek Sundararaman. Shreyas is also learning carnatic violin from Kalaimamani Dr. Narmadha, daughther of Padma Bhushan Late M.S.G. He had his initial carnatic vocal training from Smt. Geetha Iyer and violin training from Smt. Geetha Seshadri. Shreyas has earned several recognitions for his participations in various music and cultural events.

Srivatsan Tenathur (Mrudangam)

Srivatsan has been learning Mrudangam for the past five years under the able tutelage of Sri. Ramesh Srinivasan of the Sarvalaghu Percussion Art Centre. Srivatsan has been learning vocal carnatic music since age five and this strong musical training informs his Mrudangam playing style. He is also a beginning Vainika. He loves to play Mrudangam and has been regularly accompanying various budding artists as well as senior students of music around the Bay Area. Srivatsan is a freshman at Cupertino High and is an athlete who plays a variety of sports.

Aparna Thyagarajan (Vocal)

Aparna started learning music with her mother Smt. Rama Thyagarajan at the age of 5 and she is now currently under the tutelage of her uncle Delhi Shri. P. Sunderrajan for Carnatic vocal and Violin.

She learns Hindustani Music from Shri. Nachiketa Yakkundi. Aparna has given short solo performances in Thyagaraja Aradhana,,Sathguru Vidyalaya, Carnatic Chamber Concerts, Dheemtana and also in other bay area events. She has won prizes in Osaat competition and Satyadevi Memorial trust competition both in carnatic and Hindustani Vocal.

Aparna is a 8th grader in Lawson Middle School.

Vignesh Thyagarajan (Violin)

Vignesh Thyagarajan hails from a family of musicians belonging to the lineage of Flute Maestro Bramhasri Saraba Sastrigal and started learning Carnatic vocal and violin at the age of 5 years with his mother Smt. Rama Thyagarajan. Vignesh continued his lessons with Susheela Narasimhan. Vignesh is currently under the tutelage of his uncle Vidwan Shri.Delhi P.Sunderrajan.

Vignesh is a sought after violinist in the Bay Area music community. He regularly accompanies for Bay Area music schools and other organizations. In addition to accompanying in the

Bay Area, Vignesh has accompanied numerous visiting Indian artists such as, Dharini Kalyanaraman, J.A. Jayanth, and so on. He has given many solo violin concerts, and has had the privilege of playing a duet with his uncle and guru, Delhi Sri. P. Sunderrajan in the year of 2013 for Swaralahari. Vignesh regularly visits Chennai for the December Music Season and accompanies various artists.

Vignesh also learns western violin through private lessons and is currently in his school's chamber orchestra group. Vignesh was a part of the California Youth Symphony (CYS) for 3

years.

Vignesh is a founding member of the fundraising group Youth Service Through Cultural Arts (YSTCA).

Vignesh is a Senior at Cupertino High School, CA.

Gopal Ravindhran (Mridangam)

Gopal Ravindhran has been under the tutelage of Sri Ravindra Bharathy Sridharan for the past 10 years. In addition, he has attended special sessions with Sri Neyveli Narayanan.

Gopal has been a sought after accompanist for various musical schools in Bay Area and has been performing regularly in Chennai for the past couple of years. He has also been a active performer in his Guru, Ravi's school, Nadhopasana Academy of Fine Arts.

He has won several prizes in competitions conducted in the bay area, Chicago and Cleveland. In 2009 he had his Mrudangam Arangetram , accompanying Vidwan Sri Delhi Sunderajan on Vocal , Vidwan Sri Vittal Ramamurthy on the violin, and Vidwan Sri A.MahaDevan on the Morsing.

Gopal is a Senior at Irvington High in Fremont .
