Karthik Balakrishnan (Vocal)

Karthik started learning Carnatic Music from the age of five and is currently a student of Sri Paduka Academy. He has performed at local events and competitions such as OSAAT, CCC, and Thyagaraja Aradhana. A senior at Fremont High School, Karthik is interested in mathematics and computer science. He runs the model UN club at his school and participates in many endurance sporting events.


Urmika Balaji (Violin)

Urmika was initiated into carnatic violin at the age of 7 by her father Shri Mahesh Balaji. She was fortunate to become a student of Sangita Kalanidhi Padmasri A Kanyakumari from the summer of 2015 onwards. She has had vocal training from Shri Hari Devanath of Sri Paduka Academy. She is currently under the guidance of her uncle Shri.K.Chandrasekaran. Urmika is an 8th grader at Sunnyvale middle school. Besides music, Urmika loves to do acrylic painting and read books.


Sachin Rao (Mridangam)

Sachin Rao is a sophomore at Monta Vista High School. Sachin has been learning mridangam for the past 7 years under his Guru Sri Ravindrabharathy Sridharan. Recently, Sachin won both second and third prizes in the thani avarthanam and konakol categories at the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana Festival. In addition to mridangam, Sachin was learning carnatic vocal music under Smt. Jayashree Varadarajan. He also swims competitively for De Anza Cupertino Aquatics and Monta Vista High School.

Sahas Ramesh (Violin)

Sahas Ramesh is a disciple of Vidwan Sri. Vittal Ramamurthy, (disciple of Sri Lalgudi Jayaraman) for over 4 years. Sahas started his Violin lessons from late Sri. Manickam Mama in Dallas. He has accompanied on violin in Dallas and is now accompanying for many music schools in the Bay area.

He has also been learning Carnatic vocal from age 5 from Anisha Parameswaran and now continues his vocal training with Keerthana Bhat.

Sahas is a 10th grader at Mission San Jose High School, Fremont. He enjoys playing chess and Table Tennis.


Pranav Tirumalai (Mridangam)

Pranav is a disciple of Kalaa Sevaanirata Sri Trichur C. Narendran, one of the prime and early disciples of legendary Mrdangam Maestro Padmashri Palghat R. Raghu. Pranav was initiated into Mridangam under the able guidance of Sri. Ravindra Bharathi Sridharan, founder of Nadhopasana Academy of fine arts, Bay Area.

He had Carnatic vocal training under Sri. C.R. Vaidyanathan, a disciple of Padma Bhushan Sri. P.S.Narayanaswamy.

Pranav enjoys listening to music and observing techniques of great artists.

Pranav is a junior at Mission San Jose High School, Fremont. Basketball and Tennis are his favorite sports.

Aditya Bashyam (vocal)

Aditya Bashyam is an eighth grader at Horner Junior High school. He has been learning Carnatic vocal music from Smt. Kasthuri Shivakumar. He has participated and won prizes at several bay area music competitions including Papanasam Sivan, OSAAT and Kala Aradhana music competitions.

He also learns mridangam from Sri Gopi Lakshminaraynan.

He is a member of his school’s Advanced Choir and enjoys reading books and listening to music.

Prahlad Saravanapriyan (violin)

Prahlad has been learning Carnatic violin from his father and Guru Sri. Saravanapriyan Sriraman for the past 6 years. He also learns vocal both from his father and Guru Sri. Shivakumar Bhat. Prahlad accompanies in many school recitals, Pranava Naadam, SIFA, SRFA and has won prizes in OSAAT, Sivan and Cleveland competitions

Prahlad is a 6th grader at Maloney Elementary, Fremont, a.k.a. Sarvajith, he loves to play basketball, chess, carrom, Legos, and is interested in Carnatic trivia and personalities


Shrikanth Shivakumar (Mridangam)

Shrikanth is an incoming 12th grader at American High School, Fremont. He has been learning mridangam for the past 8 years from Sri. Vinod Seetharaman

He also learns Carnatic vocal music from Sri. Neyveli Santhanagoplan

Shrikanth’s passion for music has motivated him in the art of accompanying. He has widely accompanied upcoming talents in Bay Area and looking forward to accompany more.
