Meera Sukumaran (Vocal)
Meera Sukumaran is a freshman at Washington High School with a deep passion for music and the outdoors. She began her Carnatic music training in 2016 under Smt. Kalpagam Kowsik and has continued her advanced training with Smt. Akila Shankar since 2022. In addition to Carnatic music, Meera studies western flute under Ms. Michele Caimotto and is an active member of her school’s wind ensemble and marching band. Beyond music, Meera enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and is especially drawn to activities around water. She is an enthusiastic hiker and skier who loves exploring nature and staying active.
Amulya Gayathri Akkenepalli (Violin)
Amulya Gayathri Akkenepalli is a 7th grader at Lawson Middle school and has been learning violin from Guru Smt. Sandhya Srinath for about 5 years. Amulya has been performing in several thematic musical ensembles by Vaadya Vidyaalaya. She has performed on various Bay area music platforms such as Cleveland Aradhana, LOTUS, CCC, Rasamanjari, etc., and has been accompanying various Bay Area music schools and Bay area dance schools. Amulya won prizes at BAKU, OSAAT and Cleveland Aradhana. Amulya is a disciple of Guru Smt. Jayashree Varadarajan and learns vocal music from her. Amulya also learns Bharatanatyam from Guru Smt. Roopa Anand
Pranav Natarajan (Mridangam)
Pranav Natarajan is a 7th grader in Centerville Junior High School. He has been learning mridangam from Sri Gopi Lakshminarayanan since 2019 and learns vocal from Smt. Misha Rajaram Agarwal. Pranav is interested in science, solving rubiks cubes, and enjoys reading Ithihasas and Puranas, especially the Vishnu Purana.
Krishna Chaitanya Narayanan (Veena)
Krishna Chaitanya Narayanan learns Veena from Smt Sreevidhya Chandramouli and Shri Chandramouli Narayanan, belonging to the Karaikudi lineage of Veena tradition. He has been learning this art form since the age of 7. He is currently an 8th grader at Stratford Preparatory school.
Pranav Tirumalai (Mridangam)
Pranav Tirumalai began his musical journey at the age of 6 under the able guidance of Sri. Ravindra Bharathy Sridharan. For the past 10 years, Pranav has had the fortune of learning the art of mridangam from Kalaimamani Vidwan Trichur C. Narendran, who has accompanied stalwarts of Carnatic music for more than 6 decades. Pranav is blessed to follow in the illustrious musical lineage of Padma Shri Palghat R. Raghu and Sangita Kalanidhi Palghat Mani Iyer. Pranav has had the opportunity to accompany several musicians ranging from youngsters like himself to senior Vidwans, both in the Bay Area and Chennai. He completed his bachelor’s in biomedical engineering at UC Davis and will begin a master’s in mechanical engineering at Stanford this fall.
